EDITORIAL
The past immediate editor of the Israel Journal of
veterinary Medicine, Dr Gad Simon, has recently retired from his post
after seven years of productive service. In acknowledgement of his
tremendous contributions, Dr. Simon was awarded the Israeli Veterinary
Medical association "Jonas Award-2004”. I am most confident we all share
the association's appreciation and gratitude .
Happily, Dr. Simon has consented to stay on at the Journal and act as an
associate editor; thus, he will share his experience and original ideas
with us.
Recently, some personnel changes have been made in the editorial board
of the Journal. At the first meeting of the board, it was decided that
the Journal will focus mostly on topics, diseases and research in
veterinary medicine relevant to Israel and the near region. In addition
to the original manuscripts, more emphasis will be placed on reviewed
articles complying with the interest of our rather heterogenous group of
readers. This current issue is a first step in this direction.
Your continued contributions to the Journal in original manuscripts,
reviews, letters and comments will be very much appreciated.
